Experience
I currently work as a Pharmacy Technician at St. Charles' Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY. In my extra time, I work with children and youth in various capacities. On Sundays, I teach Sunday School for a combined class of K-12 students. I also provide childcare for the True North Community Church, as needed. I enjoy helping students gain confidence in difficult subjects by providing encouragement, individualized attention, and effective studying and test-taking strategies. My tutoring experience includes individualized instruction at a math tutoring center, as well as private tutoring, in both library and home settings. During my time in college, I pursued my passion for helping students reach their full potential through mentoring and tutoring elementary students in a non-profit after-school program. I also had the pleasure of helping children with special needs prepare for kindergarten integration in various pre-school programs. My love for helping students began early. While I was in high school I tutored middle school students in science and math. I received positive feedback from the students and their parents as the students' quizzes and tests showed improved understanding of the material within a few tutoring sessions. As my experience demonstrates, I enjoy working with students of various ages and abilities. While my strongest skills are in math and science, I am happy to tutor in other subjects as well.

Hobbies
Some of my favorite things to do include exploring new places on Long Island and taking photos of intricately detailed things in nature. I love running (and doing most anything) outdoors. The park, the beach, and any place near the water are my go-to spots. When I have the chance, I tap into my creative side and whip up some baked goodies, hand-letter and detail a birthday card, or craft a gift out of collected driftwood and shells. Game nights with family or friends bring out the best in me. I'm a fierce MadGab competitor, and a great teammate in Taboo. If it involves fresh air, exercise, getting my hands a little dirty, good food, good music, and/or laughter - I'm up for it!
